All new Volkswagen Beetle official photos!

The wait is finally over! The next generation Volkswagen Beetle is now finally revealed and we finally get to see the new design! Thankfully, Volkswagen had changed the name back to just Beetle, instead of New Beetle or calling it the Newer Beetle.

The current New Beetle’s “cute” design was clearly aimed at female customers. The new Beetle features a much more longer front body, sleeker roof line, and wider stance. The more powerful model even gets a rear spoiler and twin exhaust. Still a feminine car? I don’t think so. Volkswagen obviously wants the Beetle to appeal to both gender.

Despite being bigger than a practical Golf, the Beetle is still a poseur’s car with cramped rear seats and small boot. The interior is also much more attractively designed than the Golf’s. Four engines will be available at launch. 3 petrol and 1 diesel. The petrol engine lineup includes a 1.2 TSI with 105hp, 1.4 TSI with 160hp, and a 2.0 with 197 hp. The only diesel engine would be a 1.6 liter TDI that can achieve 65.7 mpg.

The all new Volkswagen Beetle will go on sale in the UK next year and prices will start at £14,000 which puts it below the Golf. The Beetle will be unveiled to the public at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show as well as New York Motor Show! What do you think about the new look?
