2013 Dodge Dart first look!

With the official reveal of Dodge’s highly anticipated new model coming up in just a few more days at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show, is does not come up as a surprise that some form of information will eventually find it’s way onto the internet. And surprise surprise you are looking at the leaked official images of the all new Dodge Dart!

Going to replace the not-very-good Dodge Caliber, this all new Dart is also going to compete against competitive rivals such as the Ford Focus and perhaps the Hyundai Elantra. Clearly inspired by the aggressive design of it’s elder sibling, the Charger, the Dart definitely looks more exciting than the boring Ford Focus and look’s bit similar to the Hyundai Elantra especially at the front. With the name Dart, Dodge is trying to show it’s more agile, performance focused side of their car. The Dart in red you see here comes with the more sporty R/T spec which makes it look even more sporty. Built on Alfa Romeo Giulietta’s platform, the Dart will come with a choice of three petrol (or gasoline in the US) engines.

A 2.0 liter with 160hp, a 2.4 liter with 184hp as well as a turbocharged 1.4 liter engine taken from the Fiat 500 Abarth producing 160hp. More detailed information will be revealed along with it’s official reveal at the Detroit Motor Show. Oh did I mention that an official video footage of the Dart was leaked as well?
