Citroën C4 Aircross officially revealed!

Don’t get too excited about this car’s name. Yes, the crossover segment is indeed getting more and more popular nowadays among all car manufacturers. However, this does not mean that the Aircross is a cross between an airplane and a car. We will leave that to Michael Bay.

This actually Citroën’s all new crossover, the C4 Aircross. Looking as striking as ever, the Aircross is actually based on the now-bland Mitsubishi ASX. With Citroën’s latest design language which means aggressive front headlights, vertical LED day-time-running-lights and  Citroën’s very own unique C-pillars, you are looking at one attractive French vehicle.

Four different types of engines will be available for the Aircross. The base 1.6 petrol engine with only 110hp, a 1.6 diesel with an identical 110hp, a 2,0 liter petrol engine with 150hp, and a 1.8 diesel also with 150hp. All but the base engine will be offered with four-wheel-drive as an option. All models are front wheel driven if you do not spec the four-wheel-drive system.

Europeans will be able to buy the Citroën C4 Aircross in the middle of 2012. In the meantime, check out Citroën’s parent company, Peugeot version of their new crossover here
