New Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 race car announced!
In the world of racing, Aston Martin uses race cars that were based on the V8 Vantage for GT2 and GT4 series while the DB9 based DBRS9 race car was used for GT1 and GT3 races. Despite the DBRS9 race car still being a competitive racer, Aston Martin had announced that they will replace it with a V12 Vantage based GT3 race car.
Not to be confused with the V8 Vantage, the V12 Vantage ia actually the same car but with a larger V12 engine. Aston’s decision to do so is probably to take advantage of the Vantage’s smaller and therefore lighter body yet with the same 6.0 liter V12 engine. Details are not out yet but Aston Martin hopes that it will have over 600hp and weighs below 1250kg.
10 units will be made by July, which is when the race car gets it’s first debut and will be slowly replacing the 26 DBRS9 made. The image above is just a rendering of how the car would look like, so stay tuned to this site for more details!
