New Audi Q3 finally revealed!
Ever wanted to own a brand new Audi Q5 only to be disappointed to find out that you could not really afford it? Well, before we sad people could turn to buy BMW X1’s and Volkswagen Tiguans, Audi revealed their ultimate rival. Behold the all new Audi Q3!
It all started off with the gargantuan Q7, then the more sensibly-sized Q5 and now the Q3. The Audi Q3 is Audi’s smallest SUV and it is significantly smaller than it’s brother as it is 240mm shorter, 50mm narrower and 53mm lower than the Q5. In fact, the Audi Q3 was based on the Tiguan’s platform.
The Q3 features Audi’s predictable all-looks-the same-design language, but thats usually not a bad thing to most people. Being the cheapest Audi’s SUV model, the headlights do not seem to feature Audi’s signature LED day time running lights. Instead, it was replaced by light strips which still looks great. The rear lights are full of LEDs so don’t worry.
As for all Audi interiors, the Q3’s interior is equally well-built as any other Audi model and expect high quality materials to be used extensively everywhere in it’s beautiful cabin. The center console have similar design to the one from the Audi A1 which is never a bad thing. As we can see from the official photos provided by Audi, premium BOSE stereo will be available as well.
Two petrol engine and one diesel engine will be available at launch. The two petrol engines are the same 2.0 liter turbocharged TFSI engine but with with 170hp or 211hp to choose from. While the diesel 2.0 TDI engine will have 177hp. A more fuel efficient diesel engine with 140hp will be available soon. All three engines which are available during launch will also be equipped as standard with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system. Still, don’t expect this car to do well off-road. Helps traction in wet though.
The Audi Q3 will go on sale beginning in June for Europe and will be manufactured at Seat’s Martorell plant in Spain. Prices starts at €29,900 and we will be able to see the car’s first public debut at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show! In the meantime, enjoy the gallery and a short video on the Q3 right below!
