You can now bring your skis along in the new Koenigsegg Agera R!
The original Agera was actually just a standard Koenigsegg CCX with nicer looks. Now however, Koenigsegg will reveal the latest Agera R at the Geneva Motor Show tomorrow! With a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing an insane 1100bhp (just 100bhp less than the Bugatti Veyron SuperSport) when fuelled on E85 biofuel and sadly only 972bhp with normal petrol.
The Agera R has a removable roof panel which allows you to transform it into a roadster, and with enough boot space to keep the panel with you without leaving it at home. The photo above shows a weird object above the car which is actually a bespoke carbon fiber roof box to keep your skis. Is was not Koenigsegg’s idea for that but it is specified by it’s anonymous and apparently loaded owner. Who would actually drive this into the snowy mountains or the ski resort?
Another thing worth mentioning are it’s Vortex Generating Rim (VGR), great looking rims but can also generate downforce thanks to it’s turbine-like design. With a 0-60mph time of under 3 seconds and a top speed of 250mph (400kph), Koenigsegg claims that the Agera R is fitted with the highest-speed-rated tyres in the world which is rated at 260mph.
