Detroit Auto Show 2010: Ford Vertrek Concept!
I know, I know, this news is a bit old now, but I’m a little busy during the beginning of this year and don’t have much time to update this site regularly. Hopefully you, my loyal readers will understand and enjoy this post, the Ford Vertrek Concept from this year’s Detroit Auto Show!
This crossover concept car previews Ford’s future global CUV vehicle which will also replace the aging Ford Escape. This is not just a design concept, this car is also powered by Ford’s latest 1.6-liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder engine. EcoBoost is Ford’s way of calling a turbocharged engine and the car will have a Start-Stop system to save even more fuel.
Ford says that by 2013, 90 percent of their model lineups will have an EcoBoost engine as an option. Making Ford a much more greener car manufacturer, regenerative braking will also be a norm in the future for Ford cars.
The Ford Vetrek will feature Ford’s famous Kinetic design language, with recognizable parts as well, notably from the latest Ford Focus for the front grille and bumper. This car definitely look striking, but expect the production version to look more ‘realistic’, as in more toned-down and less futuristic. Enjoy more live as well as official photos and videos of the Ford Vetrek Concept!
