Next generation Aveo will now be called Sonic!

Remember the Chevrolet Aveo? The compact hatchback from Chevrolet famous for being so boring, bland, and just plain terrible. Clearly Chevrolet knew this and decided to change the name to Sonic for their next generation model. “The Sonic represents a new beginning for Chevrolet in the small car segment and so we felt it was time to give it a new name,”,“The new car is roomy, stylish and fun to drive, and Sonic is a youthful, energetic name that helps convey what this vehicle is about.” these are the words coming from Chris Perry who is the vice president of Chevrolet U.S. Marketing. Well no one have driven it before so we can’t prove him wrong yet but I hope this new Aveo, uhh sorry, Sonic will be much better than the previous generation. The car will only be called Sonic in the US, Canada, and Mexico but still Aveo elsewhere. But what do you think? Do you think Chevrolet really find the word Sonic energetic because of the word supersonic? But based on the first picture of the Sonic in BLUE, I really believe that Chevy got the name because of this Sonic.
