New 2012 BMW 6 Series Convertible Revealed!
The new BMW 6 Series will be unveiled today at the LA Auto Show but BMW had already reveal photos and details of the all new 6 Series convertible which will go on sale next year as a 2012 model. Borrowing designs from the BMW Concept 6 Series Coupé, the new 6 Series is only revealed as a convertible so far and measures in at 4,894 millimeters in length. Which means it is 74 millimeters longer, 39 millimeters wider, and 9 millimeters lower than the current 6 Series. BMW also claims that the new 6 Series is 50% more rigid than its predecessor.
The model which BMW revealed is the top of the line 650i and is powered by BMW’s latest 4.4-liter V8 engine with direct injection and turbocharging technology. The convertible comes with a fabric roof which can open in 19 seconds and close in 24 seconds at speeds up to 40 km/h. BMW will reveal even more details closer during launch and also the Coupe version.
