Big & Bold. The BMW Concept X7 iPerformance showcased in Malaysia!

BMW Group Malaysia never ceases to surprise local fans by showcasing the BMW X7 iPerformance concept car for the first time not only in Malaysia, but also in South East Asia!

Similar to the South East Asia debut of the Concept 8 Series on our shores at the BMW Luxury Excellence Pavilion earlier this year, BMW Malaysia is committed to share their vision of what BMW calls “progressive luxury”.

BMW Malaysia is also proud to use this occasion to share their success in the first half of 2018 as they have delivered over 6400 new BMW, MINI vehicles, and BMW Motorrad motorcycles.

With a global, year-to-date electrified BMW and MINI deliveries totaling at 60,660 units, BMW Malaysia also revealed that plug-in hybrid vehicles now consists of more than half of the total vehicle deliveries at 56 percent.

Back to the X7 iPerformance, the 7 nomenclature is a clear link to BMW’s flagship limousine to signify BMW’s upcoming flagship, full-sized sports utility vehicle. Or as BMW calls it, Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV).

Slated for a global launch in 2019, the BMW X7 will be the Bavarian automaker’s largest model yet in their long and rich history.

At first glance, there’s no denying the car’s sheer size and the sense of presence that comes with it. Amplifying this is the gargantuan signature kidney grille that is also their largest yet when it launches next year.

The slim headlights also further accentuates the bold grille and air intakes. Like it or not, it’s the kind of car people move away from when seen from the rear view mirror.

At the rear, the familiar slim L-shaped tail lights found in the latest BMW model range such as the new X4 and the 8 Series are also seen on the X7 iPerformance concept car.

Based on images and videos of the pre-production model, expect the production X7 to look pretty similar to the X7 iPerformance concept car you see here.

Interior wise, the concept car features a bold combination of Olive-Bronze and Smoke White for that striking contrast on the six individual seats.

It would be safe to assume that the production X7 would come with the traditional eight passenger seating configuration, but a more higher-end variant with individual seats as seen in this concept car is also a possibility.

Look past the glass crystal gear knob and you will find BMW’s latest interior design language first seen in the production 8 Series. In the X7 iPerformance’s case you will discover the much sleeker air vents, large 12.3 inch instrument cluster screen, and the futuristic looking steering wheel which would most probably be watered down for the production model.

As with most concept cars, the exaggerated features makes the X7 iPerformance a striking car to look at. A definite head turner whether you find it attractive or not.

When the production X7 goes on sale next year, it will be the biggest statement one could purchase from the Bavarian automaker and there’s no denying that there’s a strong market for such a product.

One thing is for sure, the chances to see these one-off concept cars are rare. So do make the effort to come see the imposing BMW Concept X7 iPerformance for yourself that will be showcased exclusively at Bangsar Shopping Centre from Wednesday, 18th July 2018 to Sunday, 22nd July 2018 during the BMW X Range Roadshow!
