Malaysia Boleh! Nabil Jeffri’s Debut with WEC 2018/19 Super Season & 24 Hours of Le Mans!

25 year old Malaysian, Nabil Jeffri who is proudly the world’s youngest F1 test driver when he test drove for the the Lotus Racing Formula One team in 2010 at the Imperial War Museum Duxford will make his racing debut in the 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Super Season.

Nabil will race as part of the Jackie Chan DC Racing x Jota team piloted by the first-ever Malaysian-only line-up comprising of Ex-Formula Renault 3.5 race winner Jazeman Jaafar and former Caterham F1 Academy member Weiron Tan.

The three Malaysian will be driving in ORECA 07 Gibson powered cars (nicknamed #FortuneCat37) which is 120hp more powerful and has 20 percent more downforce than its predecessor, the Oreca O5.

Previously, Nabil joined the AirAsia ASEAN Driver Development Program run by Lotus principal Tony Fernandes in 2010 which was where Nabil had the chance to carry out an aerodynamic test for the Lotus Racing team, driving the Lotus T127 Formula One car on Duxford’s Imperial War Museum runway, making him the youngest F1 test driver at 16.

In the same year, he stepped up to Formula BMW Pacific, and raced for Eurasia Motorsport. He was later chosen to be in the PETRONAS Talent Development Program in 2013 and competed in the ATS FORMEL 3 CUP under Team Eurointernational.

Not too long ago in 2016, Nabil raced with UK-based Arden International on his debut season in F2 (then known as GP2) before moving to Italian outfit Trident Racing in 2017 FIA Formula 2 Championship.

More recently, Nabil became Malaysia’s first AMG brand ambassador in conjunction with the launch of the locally-produced Mercedes-AMG C 43 and GLC 43.

We at BenAutobahn wishes Nabil the very best in his racing career, and hopes to one day see a local representation on the Formula One stage once again!
