Are you a retired fighter jet pilot? Do you want to relive the good old days where you get to fly supersonic jets on a regular basis? Well, this new creation from Lamboghini should suit you perfectly. Called the Egoista, this extreme-looking concept car was created in celebration of Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary.

The aptly named Egoista (which means selfish in Spanish) is all you’d expect from a selfish car: looks absolutely stunning both inside and out but only seats one and one only. Designed by Volkswagen Group lead designer Walter De Silva, the Egoista sure looks like a fighter jet on four wheels…

A jet pilot will feel right at home inside the cockpit with two joystick-like handles forming the steering wheel and futuristic digital gauges and Heads-Up-Display all-round. Even more distracting than those cool displays would be the bright orange trim covering the dash and the body-hugging seat which will not look out of place on a roller coaster.

The driver might also feel a roller-coaster-like acceleration. The Egoista is powered by a Gallardo engine but in its most powerful form, apparently the engine is taken from the Gallardo Super Trofeo racing car but tuned to produce even more power and now produces 600 hp.

Not only the orange tinted windshield can be folded outwards for the driver to get in and out of, but rumour has it that the whole cockpit can be detached from its body as well! Sadly there are no current plans to bring the Egoista into production as this is merely a 50th anniversary birthday present to itself.

I’m sure however, if there are huge demands for it, Lamborghini just might build it just like what happened to the supposedly concept-only Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.
