2012 Audi A4 facelift revealed!

If you take a look at Audi’s complete model range, you will realized that all models looked almost identical to each other because Audi wants it so. But then look closely and you will soon find out that two models may look a bit out of place among the other models, that would be the A3 and the A4. Audi must had realized that they do not look identical to the others and something has to be done.

There is nothing a facelift could not do and Audi had recently done it for their A4. Prepared to go on sale next year, the 2012 Audi A4 will feature Audi’s trademark front grille, LED light “strips”, and even more LEDs for the rear lights. There is a slight change in design for both headlights and rear lights, which make them look same as the other models. The hood as well as the rear bumper are also new.

As for the interior, there would be a newly designed steering wheel, more wood/aluminium trims, updated MMI infotainment system, as well as revised ignition key. You would be very wrong to think that Audi will just stop at the appearance and the interior for a facelift, because with the recent launch of the all-new BMW 3-Series, it can’t.

To make sure the facelifted A4 could still well compete with the new generation 3-Series till Audi launch their all-new A4 in a few years time, Audi had made a few slight tweaks to the shock absorbers, added new mounts of the rear suspension control arms, as well as a new electromechanical power steering. Pretty substantial update for a mere facelift.

This facelift applies to the whole A4 model range which includes the sedan, Avant (estate/wagon), Allroad, as well as the most powerful in the range, the S4. Buy any form of the A4 except the S4 and you will get to choose between a 1.8 TFSI petrol engine with 120hp or  in 170hp guise, a  2.0 TFSI with 210hp, or the 3.0 TFSI V6 with 270hp. As for the diesels, we get to choose from a 2.0 TDI with either 134hp or 161hp, and a more powerful 3.0 TDI with 201hp or 241hp.

As for the top-of-the-line S4, it will be powered by the same 3.0 TFSI V6 from the normal A4 but with more horsepower, 333hp to be exact. And to distinguish itself from the lesser models, it will have silver painted wing mirrors, full S-Line bodykit, standard 18 inch rims (19’s are optional), quad exhaust pipes, as well as loads of S4 badges around the interior of the car, from the headrest, to the steering wheel. Just to remind your passenger that you are that little more successful than a normal A4 driver.

As for the A4 Allroad, it will only be available in Avant form and it will feature more ground clearance, raised ride height, extended wheel arches with unpainted black bumpers, and underside skid plates to protect the underside of the car when you go off-roading. As I mentioned before, the newly facelifted A4 will go on sale next year with slight changes in pricing. In the meantime, enjoy the photos and videos below on the new Audi A4!
