Chevrolet Corvette Centennial Edition revealed!

This year is Chevrolet’s 100th year and Chevrolet decided to celebrate this special occasion and to earn some extra cash by selling special editions of their Corvette. Called the Centennial edition, the car comes only in ‘carbon flash metallic’ black paint and features satin black rims with red-painted brake calipers, and contrasting red stitching for the black leather interior.

Another way to distinguish the Centennial Edition are the special logos of racing driver and co-founder of the Chevrolet company, Louis-Joseph Chevrolet which can be found on the B-pillars, rim center, steering wheel, as well as the seats. ” We really wanted to show the racing heritage that we have in the Corvette” said Harlan Charles, Corvette Product Manager.

Unfortunately, there are no power or any technical upgrades available. The Centennial Edition is available to all Corvette models, including the ,Z06, ZR1, and the convertible Grand Sport. All Centennial Edition will come with Chevrolet’s ‘Magnetic Selective Ride Control’ as standard which used to be an option on lesser models.

As mentioned by Rick Scheidt, the vice president of Chevrolet marketing, “The Centennial Edition not only celebrates our 100 years, it once again pushes Corvette forward for a new generation of sports car fans.” No prices have been announced yet or the number of cars they planned to make, but the Centennial Edition Corvette will go on sale in June.
