BMW latest 2.0 liter turbocharged engine first debuts in X1 xDrive28i!

BMW had recently announced their latest petrol engine, a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine and will be first used for the BMW X1 xDrive28i. The new engine will have a total of 242 bhp and have a 0-100km/h time of 6.5 seconds for the automatic transmission.

BMW’s latest 2.0 liter engine was built on the 3.0 liter engine and will share the same technology, for example BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology, an all-aluminum crankcase, and Valvetronic (BMW’s variable valve control system). The new engine will also feature high precision solenoid injectors for the direct-injection system. Whatever that means. But it definitely sounded cool.

The X1 xDrive28i will come eqquiped with a 6-speed manual transmission and BMW’s EfficientDynamics technology as standard (stop-start and regenerative braking). The new engine will soon be available for the other BMW models as well, most likely the Z4, 3 Series, or even the 5 Series.
