Detroit Auto Show 2011: Hyundai Veloster

This is the all new Hyundai Veloster! Hyundai’s answer to rival the Volkswagen Scirocco, Honda CR-Z, and the MINI Cooper. Looking as striking as ever, the Veloster will be powered by a 1.6 liter engine with 138 hp. Not the fastest out there, but Hyundai does not planned it to be.

The benefit for being not so quick is having great fuel economy, Hyundai claims that the Veloster can do 40 miles per gallon on the highway. The Veloster may look like a three-door (including boot) coupe, but it is actually a four-door because the Veloster has an extra front-hinged door at the passenger side for easier access to the rear seats. The rear seats will not require amputations for adults to fit in, but it is clearly not for very long journeys.

If you don’t care about new cars and only love new gadgets, the Veloster have something that will make this post worth your read. Fitted with Hyundai’s latest Blue Link system, the standard 7-inch touchscreen will have many awesome features. For example service schedule, restaurants’ ratings, remote start, an optional sat-nav, and even stolen vehicle slowdown, whatever that means.

No prices have been announced yet, but expect it to be very competitively priced or even cost cheaper than most of it’s rivals. Enjoy the live photos of the Hyundai Veloster in the slideshow below and I’ve also included a driving footage as well for your viewing pleasure!
