GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept revealed!

The macho-looking truck you see here is the GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept which is revealed ahead of the upcoming Detroit Motor Show. As you can see from these photos, this particular GMC Sierra HD pickup truck is modified to make it unstoppable off-road.

To make this truck a king on the beaten path, GMC moved all of the wheels towards the corner to make a wider track, 73-inch (1,853 mm) to be exact. The Sierra also has 3 inches extra of ground clearance with a total of  21.1 inches. Not to forget that this vehicle also has upgraded suspension with custom Fox off-road shocks. You could also disconnect the front stabilizer bar with just a touch of a button.

Those rim are 20-inches but looked so small when fitted together with 35-inch-tall BFGoodrich mud terrain tires. Protecting the underside of the Sierra during off-road duty are a set of full composite underbody protection which will protect the car’s transmission, drivetrain, fuel tank, exhaust system and axle differentials.

Powering this beast will be GM’s new production 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel V8 which produces 397hp and 765 lb.-ft. of torque. With permanent all-wheel-drive, the Sierra will also include  automatic locking front and rear differentials with 14 inch disc brakes for all four wheels. GM did not mention any plan to build this, but a similar off-road focussed Sierra could go on sale in the future.
